to-do-nothing-is-an-act-of-irresponsibilitynot-acting-is-a

To do nothing is an act of irresponsibility. And thus for leadership its suicide not to the leader themselves but the community, nation and the universe. Whatever position they bequeathed you with is for action. Not acting is a misuse of the leadership space given. I write this poem today as a reminder of “The Soul Rhythm of Leadership”

Poem “The Soul Rhythm of Leadership.”

When leaders do nothing, like a shell of a soul,

A lost voice in the wilderness,

Their silence deafening, inaction vibrating, invisible like a ghost of Magozi

A drifting vacuum, cracking spirits arise.

When leaders do nothing, like a ship without a sail,

Drifting aimlessly like deadness of a river, wallowing with no purpose or trail,

With no destination in sight, drifting no where, in acts of irresponsibility,

The land thirsting in vain, its people lost and confused, the people cry out.

When leaders do nothing, the candle buns out

The warmth be-gets coldness, a waste of leadership space

Lives living aimlessly ingress and the power they behold vanishes in sight

And days pass the nights, the world holds the same

But there is a leader who arises to acts, stepping forth with might,

Kindles a flame and ignite the night.

They engine the human soul in sang-froid engrossed,

Guiding a future beckoned with hope.

Pursuing the rhythm of the drums and the beat of the heart,

Leading with the soundness and a true African art.

Their vision a beacon that shines so bright,

Guiding to a future of destined for ontogenesis.

With the sound of the djembe and the melody of the kora,

A true leader voices echoes with the spirit of the African ancestors,

That roars in the true jungle of Africa, a river alive nourishing the land

An allegory for the journey taken, and the babes fed,

Like the great Kings and Queens of our land Kabalegas, Mansa Musa, Shaka Zulu, Yaa Asantewaa

Towards a future of greatness, a horizon of hope embodied in action of sweat

Stepping out with action shoes and thumping the voices of slumber

Awakening the weak and mighty

To resolve destiny and recapture the power therein

A true warrior of the land emerges,

Creating, recreating and co-creating a new world

For the present and future to stand and say

There was once a Man, there was once a woman in the land.

And it was YOU with the Soul Rhythm of Leadership

I Now Know a NO
