The Year for Bold Leadership

We are in March already, and to some, the set priorities and goals of 2022 are starting to shape, to others they are still complaining of 2021 a year of great challenges. But whatever the case, 2022 is already moving on, so we only have one choice, to step boldly into the future or continue lamenting in its past. As people, we need to be leaders who are bold to step up. This year is for bold leadership, for those leaders who are willing to stand up for truth, and integrity amidst the social, economic, political, and moral challenges of our time. The tide is only for those who are bold, and with boldness can take on the issues at hand. Leaders stand on the edge of the crossroad embedded in popularity and fame. The cost of popularity lies in making everyone comfortable and ok while fame on the other hand is a reward for those that stand against the odds and choose to be different.

True leaders should be bold. They should be bold not because of what they can do, but because of the cause, they believe in. We find our boldness, not in our own ability, but we find our boldness through the conviction of our beliefs and the one we serve.

The Power of Saying No As an Aspiring Leader

Whatever your beliefs are, be it environmental sustainability, be it governance, be it spreading the gospel, be it wanting to see the world change for a better place; whatever it is you must be bold to make it happen.

The bold leaders of now must grow their power to say No, they must be willing to rise up and carry the cross to protect and stand up for everything that matters to make our society a better place we all desire to be in. In today’s world of high stress and limitless choices, leaders face the pressure to give in and compromise which grows greater every day, eroding ethics and everything held so dear. Never has boldness been greatly more needed than now. The ability and willingness to stick to principles at any cost; the determination not to be derailed from what is true even in the supposedly most threatening of situations is the icon of honorable leadership. Lucky Dube (RIP) the South Africa Music legend sang in one of his songs, if you stand for the truth, you will always stand alone.

In our generation, the time is now to see leaders at every level stand for the truth and do so with boldness and liberty. Jesus Christ the Rock of Ages has set us apart for a time like this to rise above the occasion of ‘give us today our daily bread’ to here I am Lord, send me. 2022 is a year of setting our priorities right, I feel strongly that if we are to be part of the answer as Christian leaders then with boldness must we pursue the visions set upon our hearts to further God’s Kingdom and also create the change desired in our nation. Guys, this is not a time of weakling, neither is it a time for dreaming, it’s a time for action with boldness in Christ Jesus.

Psalms 11:3, “if my foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

With so many issues at hand going wrong, this is an opportunity for the body of Christ more so leaders to do something. If we are to make an impact in this city, nation, and world we need to be bold in our dreams, in our actions, and in our faith. Now whatever you choose to do, it will take boldness and nothing but boldness.

A bold onset is half the battle. Giuseppe Garibaldi
