Hello, dear readers! Today I want to talk to you about my mother-earth: Africa. Yes, Africa, the continent that is one and yet many. What do I mean by that? Well, let me explain.

Africa, my home, has a rich and diverse history, culture, and natural beauty. Yet this is amazing continent has many contrasts and contradictions, where unity and diversity coexist yea, and sometimes clash.

“Africa is the cradle of humanity, where our ancestors first emerged and evolved.”

Did you know this continent is the cradle of humanity, where our ancestors first emerged and evolved?

Yes, it is. It is the home of ancient civilizations, such as Egypt, Nubia, Axum, Mali, and Great Zimbabwe, that left behind impressive monuments and achievements.

As a known fact, Africa is a mother of many religions and has shaped worldviews and values of millions of people. These include Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and various traditional beliefs.

Maybe you should also know that Africa is the source of many languages such as Arabic, Swahili, Hausa, Amharic, and Zulu enriching mother earth with communication and expression of human thoughts and emotions.

It’s no-wonder that the origin of many musical genres, such as jazz, blues, reggae, hip hop, and afrobeat, that influenced the global culture and entertainment.

Africa is many countries, with different identities and realities. Its diverse with over 2000 ethnic groups coexist with their own languages, cultures, traditions, and customs. This makes it one of its kind in terms of complexity.

“Understanding Africa as one and yet many, appreciating its unity and diversity, celebrating its achievements, and overcoming its difficulties are key to supporting its development and respecting its sovereignty.”

On this platform, as I normally do, I want to keep making a contribution as we answer some of these questions. I want to be part of changing the narrative about Africa, about sweet home and about making the world appreciate who and what Africa is.
