A week later, Theresa never saw the man. He never appeared or called. When she called, he said he would come. Theresa leant to come to office and give herself work (personal work)

Theresa soon started meeting new people on the block and got some friends who would come in and keep her company mainly during their breaks.

They were all amazed that the man had at last got someone to work with, for they had lost count how many had come for just days. Nobody understood this man, what he does, he came in office once in a while and he was ever shouting on his phone.

Theresa didn’t know what to do with the increasing information she got on the man. She didn’t know either to live the go dammed place, or get back on the street jobless. Theresa chose the former.

As the days progressed Theresa learnt the mysteriousness of her boss and unfortunately or unfortunately, the boss loved the challenge that Theresa had set. No one had worked with him for a month. They all left as soon as they were hired. Theresa was ready for the challenge. If working meant dealing with all kinds of strange beings, so be it. She vowed.

This attitude changed her reaction to the man’ as she called him. She had over the years learnt that nothing good comes out of nothing. So, she persisted relentlessly.

Months later the man had changed, he had met his equal. No intimidation was going to work on Theresa and so the man gave in and started teaching Theresa the dynamics and professionalism of the business.

She realized she had developed a love-hate relationship with her work. It was like playing with the fire. Every day was a mystery at her work. There was never a dull or routine moment.

Theresa learnt to work with an all-round person, one day she would write a report, the next programming, record keeping, engaging with business stakeholders, negotiating deals, secretarial work, training, administration, cleaning office, serving tea, writing homework with his kids, and anything and everything.

Amidst this confusion, Theresa became a junk of all trade personnel. She would do administrative work, managerial, programming, training, documentation, financial records and anything on her desk. This was okay with Theresa she hated routine and here was the perfect job for her.

Life is strange, she thought ”it gave me lemon I made vinegar.” She laughed. Meanwhile, her boss had got his right-hand help, she had become the all-knowing, he learnt to trust her and her expertise.
